Operation system tweaks and optimization for solid-state drives

SsdReady tool for Windows is developed to predict how long a SSD drive will work in your system. It's always better to check it under the real usage conditions, because PCs can be used in the different ways and exact calculations is better than the some average values. Additionally, SSD Ready will point you to most frequently writers in your Windows system and you'll be able to optimize these writes.

1. If you have solid-state drive additionally to HDD. Move all most active folders and files to the HDD. Usually it will be: pagefile.sys , temp folders and internet cache.

2. It's better to install Windows 7 system to the SSD instead of Windows XP. Because Windows 7 is optimized for SSDs and have no partition alignment problem. Windows 7 have an optimal alignment, but Windows XP not. SSD with bad alignment will generate much more writes (up to 50% ) and as result it will decrease resource faster. There is a special tools that can fix alignment of existed partition, but they usually copies all drive (will write a lot data and it will decrease SSD resource).
