1. If you have solid-state drive additionally to HDD. Move all most active folders and files to the HDD. Usually it will be: pagefile.sys , temp folders and internet cache. |
2. It's better to install Windows 7 system to the SSD instead of Windows XP. Because Windows 7 is optimized for SSDs and have no partition alignment problem. Windows 7 have an optimal alignment, but Windows XP not. SSD with bad alignment will generate much more writes (up to 50% ) and as result it will decrease resource faster. There is a special tools that can fix alignment of existed partition, but they usually copies all drive (will write a lot data and it will decrease SSD resource). |
