Knowledge base for SsdReady and Solid-state drives

SsdReady tool for Windows is developed to predict how long a SSD drive will work in your system. It's always better to check it under the real usage conditions, because PCs can be used in the different ways and exact calculations is better than the some average values. Additionally, SSD Ready will point you to most frequently writers in your Windows system and you'll be able to optimize these writes.

Q: I see strange files in the files list: $Bitmap, $Directory, $LogFile, $Mft... But I can't find them on the disk. A: These files are internal part of Window filesystem NTFS. They are not visible in the usermode applications, however they generate some writes. They can't be turned off because filesystem will not work without them.

JEDEC standards JESD218 (Solid-State Drive Requirements and Endurance Test ) and JESD219 (Solid-State Drive Endurance Workloads), where SSD standards are defined, are available for free download by this link.
